Happy first official day of Fall, y’all! Even though it’s just technically started, I might have already been craving pumpkin spice lattes, wearing dark nail polish, and hoping for the temperature to fall below 80 degrees so I can finally put on my favorite over sized sweater (#basic, I know) for a few weeks now.
Fall is my favorite season of the year – there is just something special about this time of year, especially in the South. The air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and college football fills our televisions and stadiums. Autumn is meant to be spent outdoors.
To help embrace the changing seasons and the coming cooler weather, I’ve put a list together of the top 10 destinations to visit in the US during the fall. It’s hard to narrow it down, but I gave it a solid effort. There are only two on the list I’ve yet to visit!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I hope everyone is enjoying the unofficial start to summer! But in between the beach, cookouts, and pool time, take a moment to remember why we’re able to enjoy those activities this weekend. All gave some, some gave all.
Summertime is around the corner, which means that it’s almost prime time for visiting the beach. Growing up with family in the pan handle of Florida meant that I was at the beach every summer since I was 7 years old. Despite getting sand in some not so great places, I continue to head down there for some fun in the sun year after year.
The problem is I always forget to pack the essentials, or I’ll see someone else on the beach with something and think of how brilliant it was they brought something. In order to keep y’all from making my mistakes, here’s a list of what I think are 12 necessities to pack when you’re headed to the beach!
Some people love burgers, some love pizza, but me? I love tacos. If I could eat one meal for the rest of my life, hands down it would be tacos and margaritas. It’s one of the reasons why I love that my birthday falls within the same week of Cinco de Mayo – more excuses to celebrate with less guilt.
I love Chicago. If I thought I could handle the winters they face there, I would seriously be tempted to trek up north. However since there is a reason I live in the South, I will settle for visiting as often as possible.
It’s not very often I get to have companions on my trips, but when I do the company is wonderful. One of my best friends, Kassi, and I were catching up over dinner in February when I mentioned an upcoming trip to Chicago in April. We talked about how much fun it would be if she could join me and before we knew it, she bought herself a ticket that night.
Some of y’all might be wondering what I do for work that allows me to travel so much. Well when I’m not writing blog posts, traveling, or stuffing my face, I manage the marketing department for my company. With a broad title comes an even more broad job description – and one of my favorite aspects of my job is event planning.
Every year we hold a national meeting that allows our corporate office to connect with our employees in the field. We go over the previous year results, strategize for next year, and of course spend some time rewarding ourselves for a job well done. And it’s my job to plan all of it and make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
This year our location was The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in beautiful Tucson, Arizona.
